Essential Harbour Island Ferry Tips
Arrive Super Early
That 6:30 AM check-in for the Nassau ferry is no joke! I've seen folks miss the boat by minutes. Set two alarms and grab coffee later.
Bring Dramamine
The Nassau route crosses open ocean – it can get bumpy! Take seasickness meds 30 minutes before boarding, trust me on this one.
Pack Light & Smart
You'll be hauling bags on and off ferries. One carry-on and a beach bag is plenty. Leave the massive suitcase at home!
Fly to Eleuthera
If the weekend-only Nassau ferry doesn't work, fly into North Eleuthera Airport. Water taxis run daily and it's way quicker!
Cash is Essential
Water taxi operators prefer cash. Hit the ATM before leaving Nassau or North Eleuthera – Harbour Island ATMs are spotty.
Book Hotels Early
This tiny island fills up fast! Book your pink sand paradise accommodation at least 3 weeks ahead, especially in season.
North Eleuthera Water Taxi Details
The quickest way to Harbour Island! These small boats zip across the channel in just 10 minutes.

Getting Around Harbour Island
Once you arrive at Government Dock, the island is yours to explore! At just 3.5 miles long and half a mile wide, everything's within reach. Golf carts are the island's main transport – rent one right at the dock for about $50-80/day.
Walking works too! It's a 10-minute stroll from the dock to the famous pink sand beach. Just follow Bay Street through colorful Dunmore Town – you literally can't miss it.
Hot tip: Book your golf cart in advance during peak season. Those babies disappear fast!
